A managed one — issued by a school or employer — typically has all three disabled by policy, and cannot install anything. What remains is the browser, which is why browser-native games are the only reliable answer for most Chromebook users.
Three things to check before committing to a game:
- Does it need a plugin or an install? If yes, it will not work on a managed device.
- Is it heavy on memory? Chromebooks often ship with 4GB, and ChromeOS is happy to kill a tab that grows.
- Does the network filter block it? Many managed networks block by category. That is a separate problem from the device, and worth testing early.
