⚠️ Land Upgrades Are NOT Permanent? A Costly Lesson in TokenLordsRPG

I wanted to bring attention to an issue I recently encountered regarding land relocation, purchased upgrades, and what I believe is a serious flaw in how the system handles player investments.

🏰 What Happened?

I purchased multiple plots of land and invested substantial amounts of Bronze and resources upgrading them to increase their production.

Like many players, I understood that when you purchase land in TokenLordsRPG, you own that land forever. Naturally, I assumed the upgrades I purchased for that land would remain associated with it.

However, after moving my lands into my backpack and relocating them to different plots, I discovered that all my purchased upgrades had been left behind at their original map locations.

The lands retained their rings, but the upgrades did not follow them.

Worse, there was absolutely no warning or confirmation explaining that relocating land would separate it from its purchased upgrades.

I only discovered this after the damage was done.

💬 The Response I Received

After raising the issue, I received the following explanation:

"That one is how it works, sorry: when a land goes into the backpack and gets placed again, its level stays behind on the old plot. The land itself keeps its ring, but the upgrades do not travel with it."

So apparently, this is intentional behavior rather than a bug.

While I appreciate the explanation, it doesn't address the underlying problem.

Just because something works as designed doesn't mean it's reasonable, intuitive, or fair.

🏰 Let's Apply That Logic to Kingdom Towers

Imagine relocating your Kingdom Tower to another plot.

Would you reasonably expect to lose every upgrade you've purchased for your Kingdom Tower simply because you moved it?

Of course not. That would be ridiculous.

Yet that is essentially the logic being applied to land upgrades.

When I purchase land, I'm told that I own it forever. When I invest additional Bronze and resources into upgrading that land, why wouldn't those improvements be permanent as well?

I'm upgrading land I own, not renting improvements to a specific coordinate on the map.

If upgrades are actually tied to map coordinates rather than the land itself, that distinction needs to be clearly explained before players make decisions that could cost them substantial resources.

💰 The Financial Impact Goes Beyond the Upgrades

This isn't simply about losing an upgrade level.

There are two separate financial consequences:

Lost Investment: The considerable Bronze and resources spent purchasing the upgrades are no longer benefiting my relocated lands.

Lost Production: Every hour those upgrades are unavailable, I'm missing out on the additional production they were purchased to generate.

These are investments players make expecting long-term returns. Losing those benefits without warning undermines the entire purpose of upgrading.

⚖️ What I Believe Is a Fair Resolution

I'm not asking for free resources, special treatment, or anything I haven't already earned.

I'm requesting one of two reasonable solutions:

Option 1 — Restore the Upgrades

Transfer my previously purchased upgrades to the lands for which they were originally purchased, restoring their production benefits.

Option 2 — Reimburse the Investment

Return the equivalent Bronze value of the upgrades, along with compensation for the production lost since relocation. I'll gladly reapply the upgrades myself.

🔧 What Should Change Going Forward?

Regardless of how my individual situation is resolved, I believe TokenLord should reconsider this mechanic.

Ideally, purchased upgrades should follow the land wherever it moves.

If TokenLord insists on keeping upgrades tied to fixed map locations, there should at least be an unmistakable warning before relocation explaining exactly what will happen.

Players should never discover the consequences of an irreversible decision only after they've made it.

❓ Questions for the Community

Did you know land upgrades remain behind when you relocate land?

Would you have expected purchased upgrades to follow the land?

Do you think it's reasonable for expensive upgrades to remain tied to map coordinates rather than the land itself?

Should players be compensated when significant investments are effectively stranded without any prior warning?

My position is simple: If I purchase land that I own forever, the upgrades I purchase for that land should remain mine as well.

Explaining that "this is how it works" doesn't address whether that's how it should work.

I'd genuinely like to hear what other players think.

This is gonna be a repeating headache that should be fixed. One way to create upset player base is to elimate all the resources it took time to acquire in game without the warning. Honestly Land moving was only even offered to fix a flaw in the game due to developers adjusting the settings of land arrangements in the first place…Now while giving the option to move your land from its original placement it pulls away all upgrades? And there was no warning?

This absolutely needs to be fixed and any players who got suckered out of their resources need to get those returned. This can NOT be what happens to ANY player within the game.
