it's might be in future we kinda had idea to make unwanted gear available to brake into shards or something else that could be used to upgrade ur choisen armour or so.
Personally I would love to see this happen as I have so much gear to get rid of.
break gear into metal parts, nails, leather, stuff like that.. trade that with other players.. even high level gear gets turned into same amounts, but to craft high level gear it would cost big amounts, this would make the crafting system more interesting and immediately create some kind of market for player trades.
I think that would be an excellent choice. Breaking down for resources would be ideal. Or I do like Auris's idea of breaking them down into shards/something else useful for upgrading gear.
