Gear has to be addressed for the game to be interesting again

Why it doesn't work?

Right now getting gear is boring, repetitive. The fact is that gear shouldn't be something you just grab in the order of hundreds, it looses the interesting aspect of actually owning it

Other than that levels make even less sense. Let's say I'm a kingdom 3 player and get access to the bronze armor chest, this means I can pull common level 3 gear and rarely level 4 or 5 (or even rarer 6). If I want to upgrade my new level 3 gear I'd need to spend 5 gear for each star (5 stars total), so to get to level 4 I'd need 5x5x5x5x5=3125 gear items. Now IF you do have 3125 level 3 gear items of the same type, it means you opened a shit ton of chests and will likely have hit a lucky level 4 or 5 or even 6. Now that means that level 3 gears become useless because to beat a level 5 gear you'd need 3125x3125=9.765.625 level 3 gears, at the same time you can give up upgrading level 5 to level 6 because you'd need still 3125 level 5 gears to get to level 6 which is impossible due to rarity. You better off getting to the new kingdom level and unlock the next chest

This ends up in: players getting bored about gear, not upgrading it, and just having thousands of gear sitting on the inventory just for nothing, NOTHING AT ALL

What you're proposing is aking to a gear system in real AAA games, which is cool/interesting and has its merit.

But this is not that type of game:

This is how gear usually is in these types of games. Lootboxes, gambling, conversions. Personally, I like it how it is, and would not rather see it changed in the way you propose.

Gear becomes something rare, collectible, perhaps just as pets.

So paying TLRPG/real money for gear, like you currently need to for pets? That would make me stop playing immediately.

Gear needs to be abundant for players to have a chance to gear up and fight. Gear is never "rare" or "collectible" in any game whatsoever: it's always available in large amounts.

While I'm not a fan of the recent gear breaking system, IMO the overal gear system is fine for what this game is. You are free to disagree.

Thanks for your post and your opinion. It is refreshing to see that you share what you think instead of just blaming the devs that we are terrable.

As I always said, trust the process, we are working together, not against you guys.

In a way your posts has good points, with some points I can agree.

Let me explain what we are planning and WHY SCRAPE SYSTEM IS NEEDED in the long term.

I was thinking for a looooong time. How to actually make economy that doesnt break and is fair. Weapons will be big part of economy.

If we just launch an update that you can trade weapons - 1 month and top players control whole economy till nothing has value. Total poop, nobody would want that. Top players boost new players and bots with top gear and they get to the top pretty quickly since level 1 player would be chilling with max gear which would 1 hit everything.

Thats why there will be scrap. Even if low player gets top tier weapon it will be a bit easier for him, but to use it constantly he would need tons of scraps. This is like giving to person a Ferrari but the person doesnt have fuel to drive it as everyday car.

Same with scrap. Weapons - Ferrari, Scrap - fuel.

Scrap will balance the economy, between high and low level players. Because as you know different kingdom tower level players can get higher gear level much easier.

Scrap is going to be the economy balancer.

Also to make it a bit cooler, we are going to add more utility to it, like upgrades, different enchantements to make it more fun. Because at the current stage if you have level 5 gear, the level 1-3 level gears is totally useless, at least it can be converted to material which upgrades your current weapon?

I like the idea of the scrap and I understand your visión, but I think the main problem right now is the amount of bronze to repair equipment, its very high for what I can get in 10 battles. I have lvl 4 equip and I need 1700 for each one. 9000 for 10 battles is not worthy and a lot of players right now is not making battles because of that.

I just did 5 battles to test the new mechanics.
50% dura gone as a basline test.

To repair, 6 pieces will cost 150ea or 9300 bronze (1.5h of tower rewards)
78 scrap ea or 468 scrap

This process took me away from battle and 5 minutes of time navigating.
Thats not fun, thats annoying.

I want the best for this game but this mechanic is a complete game breaker and as a beta tester. I must voice my oppinion and beseech you.

Please remove this mechanic.

Proposed fix:

Durability is only lost if you lose or run from a battle. 10% to run 20% on death.

Now bring back the win streaks but add XP gain to them.

This will encourage people to strategise for maximum win streaks and sometimes run/die.

Scrap to be used to repair, upgrade and forge new equipment.

This is correct, well most of it.
But compare the bronze used to repair with production.
Also, imagine a new player with no scraps, no extra gears to convert to scraps. What they gonna do ?
Not to mention battle is the only interactive experience in this game for now.
Chests are too but the rewards from battles are far better from chests and to be honest normal chest openings seems too boring now…
There will be no other way to get xp.

The system may be good, but needs tweak on numbers.
Imagine a lvl1 player, that buy lvl6 item from a higher lvl player. He would need tons of scrap to fix and tons of bronze. Probably would end up choosing not to use that item because he CAN'T sustain to use it. So market will be dead for gear, since same level player won't need item that they can "easily" get from chest, and low level won't be able to sustain bronze production and chest opening to fix gear

thanks for the well thought response. the market won’t be flooded because you won’t be getting rare items every time, like epic items might have 0.01% drop rate for example. Also the gear can be sold in tlrpg from other players there fore level 1 players would have to pay A LOT for an epic level gear making it not probable

but I do hope the best for this gear system and enchantments seem like a nice direction

The thing is every few kingdom tower levels it gets easier and easier to get higher level gear. That means high level players can get level 10 gear in same effort as low level player level 1 gear. That is why there is a scrap, to balance it out. In the future maybe we will find even better solution.

Right now removed bronze requirement from repairing gear, it should help. Also refunded around 3,942,034 bronze to players

your calculation are exactly the same as i did we need 3125 gears to go from 1 lvl to the other and i have report to mod and admin last week or 2 week ago, i have suggest to limit the tier to 3 instead of 5 and limit gears we need to 3 instead of 5, it will be still hard to do because it can't be simply easy need a bit of challenge but it will be possible and way more realistic to do, will need 243 gears instead of 3125 to go next lvl

why still hard to do because most gears we get from reward chest is lvl 1 to lvl 3 that is the most common but if you want to go lvl 6 gears starting from lvl 1 will be hard but not impossible because we receive lvl 4 to 6 gears too in rewards it won't be impossible to leveling gears it will be easier and challenging but not impossible

but before that duration and scrap system need to be fix otherwise the scrap system to fix gears will mess up the the leveling gears

first thing first a simple and easy fix for scraping system when we scrap gears there a maximum of gears we can scrap if i we have over 200 gears to scrap we have to erase the number to put 200 otherwise if you do all it won't scrap the gears, add or replace all to max option so it will limit at 200 gears or less instead of the all option that will put over 200 gears if you have more then 200 gears

duration gear is great idea but it need to be a bit longer or cost less scraping points, because we can do only 10 fights whatever the number of turn you do in fight 1 or 15

1 fight cost 1 duration

when it time to repair it cost 180 scraping points each gears witch mean i need 1080 points or 1080 lvl 1 gears to repair all at a certain point we won't get enough gears to scrap and repair our gears, are we really gonna get 1080 gears lvl 1 in 10 fight i doubt about that

completing the daily quest is a punishment to players who grind the game, 250 fight need to be done to complet the daily quest witch mean we need 27000 gears lvl 1 to scrap, it doesn't make sense it unrealistic and simply impossible to do

another punishment for daily quest if you don't pay 1500euro for emerald vip, because if your a players who really gring the game you will be out of energy at a certain point and only emerald vip will generate enough energy point to complet 250 fights every 24h, that limit of 250 fight need to be lower enough for atleast all vip

as i can see TokenLord you are ruby vip so it impossible for you too to do 250 fight every 24h for 2 reason you won't generate enough energy points and im pretty sure you won't get 27000 gears lvl 1 to scrap and repair your gears
